We’re now ready to start shipping our newest model: the HORAGE DecaFlux.
What’s the most exciting part about bringing a new product to life?
The elation following a successful brainstorming session? The flow of the first design sketches? Heated discussions which culminate in choosing a name? Seeing the watchmakers building the first working prototype and the hands starting to move? Launching the product to the media? Positive feedback from consumers? The incoming orders?
Or when the FedEx man collects the first shipments?
For me it is this last and possibly least glamorous step in the long and arduous process from 1st idea to finished product strapped around a happy owner’s wrist, which brings the greatest moment of satisfaction.
Yes of course, there are many other milestones along the way, which often reward us with a surge of happy hormones or pump us full of “fight or flight” adrenaline for a guaranteed sleepless night. But seeing the incongruous looking shipping packages sealed up and knowing that within just a few more hours our hard work will reach finally a delighted new owner somewhere in the world – this is when a mix of excitement, relief and satisfaction all converge into a beautiful Venn diagram.
The teamwork that goes into getting to this point in time is immense. A rational human being would question their sanity, if they sat down and considered in a cold, hard, empirical manner just how much time, energy and raw cash have been devoted to reach this point.
But sometimes rational thinking must be discarded to one side, allowing zeal and determination to prevail. Yes: we’re certainly a little crazy here in Biel, but a little bit of craziness goes a long way in making the impossible become the possible!
By end August 2025 we plan to have shipped all outstanding DecaFlux orders.
We hope you enjoy wearing and using the new DecaFlux as much as we did bringing it to life.
